Our Commitment

At L. LONG LAWYER INC, we are committed to providing exceptional legal services and ensuring our clients' satisfaction. We understand that engaging legal services is a significant decision, and we want you to feel confident in your choice to work with us.

30-Day Refund Policy

We offer a 30-day refund policy under the following conditions:

Retainer Fees

If you have paid a retainer fee and decide within 30 days of engagement that you wish to discontinue our services, you are entitled to a refund of the unused portion of your retainer, less any fees for work already performed.

Flat Fee Services

For services provided on a flat fee basis, if you request a refund within 30 days of payment and before substantial work has been completed on your matter, you may be entitled to a full or partial refund. The refund amount will be determined based on the work completed at the time of your request.

Hourly Services

For services billed on an hourly basis, refunds will be processed for any amounts paid in advance that exceed the value of services rendered. You will receive a detailed accounting of time spent on your matter.

Refund Process

To request a refund, please follow these steps:

  1. Submit a Written Request: Contact our office in writing (email or mail) stating your desire to discontinue services and request a refund.
  2. Review Period: We will review your request within 5 business days and provide you with a detailed breakdown of fees earned and the proposed refund amount.
  3. Documentation: You will receive an itemized statement showing all work performed and time expended on your matter.
  4. Refund Issuance: Approved refunds will be processed within 14 business days of approval via the original payment method when possible.

Exclusions

The following are generally not eligible for refunds:

  • Court filing fees and other third-party costs already expended
  • Work completed on matters with court deadlines that have passed
  • Services where deliverables have been provided (e.g., completed documents, filed pleadings)
  • Consultations that have been completed
  • Expert witness fees and other non-recoverable expenses

Ethical Obligations

Our refund policy is implemented in accordance with the Utah Rules of Professional Conduct. Upon termination of representation, we will take reasonable steps to protect your interests, including providing reasonable notice, returning your papers and property, and refunding any advance payments not yet earned.

Disputes

If you disagree with our determination regarding a refund request, we encourage you to discuss the matter with us directly. We are committed to resolving fee disputes fairly and in accordance with professional standards. You may also contact the Utah State Bar's Fee Arbitration Program for assistance in resolving fee disputes.
